Draft, written by a program and not yet read by a lawyer. It is not legal advice, and it will say so until a lawyer has read it. It describes, plainly, what Slovca does with the addresses on its waiting list.
The waiting list
Before Slovca opens, you can leave your email address to hear when it does.
What we keep: the address; the language the page was in, so we write to you in it; the animals you picked, if you picked any; and when you joined and when you confirmed.
What we do with it: we write to you twice: once straight away, to check the address is yours, and once when you can join. Nothing else. We share it with no one but the service that sends our mail, [Resend, Inc. — processor terms, location and transfer basis: for a lawyer].
If you don't confirm: the address is deleted, with everything kept with it, when the link in our first mail expires, 72 hours after we send it. If we have not managed to send it within 72 hours of your joining, it is deleted then. Either way, an unconfirmed address is gone within a week.
Leaving: every mail we send has a link that deletes the address and everything with it, at once, with no account. Your mail program's own unsubscribe button does the same.
Mail that cannot be delivered: if our mail to the address bounces for good, or is reported as spam, we delete the address and everything kept with it, and keep only a one-way, keyed digest of it, so that we never write to it again.
Limiting abuse: so that nobody can use the form to flood someone else's inbox, we count, for a day, how often an address is entered, and for an hour, how often a connection uses the form. The first count is kept under a one-way, keyed digest of the address, never the address itself; the second holds your connection's network address for that hour, and nothing more.
Counting visitors: we count how many people read the page and how many join, per day, without cookies and without anything that identifies you: a visit is counted from a one-way, keyed digest of your connection's address and browser, which we cannot turn back into either.
Your rights: to see what we hold, to correct it, or to have it deleted, write to [privacy@slovca.net — an inbox someone reads, before this is published]. If you also have an account, its export includes this, and when the account is erased, this goes with it.
Legal basis: [consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / ZZPL — for a lawyer].
